Wishful Thinking...

Wishful Thinking...What I would do if I won the lottery.

Everyone daydreams at some point what it would be like to win the lottery and it looks like Luke has already got his plan in place...

'If I won the lottery I would buy a big house for all my family with a huge garden to play in and a playhouse that we could sleep in.

I would give £10,000 to the RSPCA and some money to other charities that help people who are sick like Macmillan who we do the coffee morning for and to others that try to find ways to cure illnesses.

I would like to travel the whole world and see lots of interesting things, I would love to go to Disneyland and to see the Northern Lights. I would go to LEGOLAND and take my sister to Peppa Pig World as she really wants to go.

I would buy all the Match Attax that I am missing.

I would buy a wind tunnel so my friends and I could fly whenever we wanted.

I would get a new car for my Mum because hers is broken'

Looks like it would all be gone very quickly doesn't it?!

Computer Coding for Children

Computer Coding for Children

As I mentioned before I love using a computer and playing computer games but don't get to do so very often, so when my Mum found out about a site where you could create something by using coding and said we could have a look at it I jumped at the chance.

Barclays digital playground http://barclayscodeplayground.co.uk/ is a safe place for kids to try basic coding. There are loads of different things you can change by changing the instructions like speeding up chickens, making giraffes smaller or taller and popping toast really high. It is great fun to see what a difference a small change in the instructions can make. After playing around with this out for a while we decided to make Father's Day cards using the program- this was really funny as you can add your family and make them do dances before adding music to the card. I spent ages setting up my family and was really happy with the result, this link takes you to the moving version of it-

happy father’s day to the coolest dad! coded by luke.

Then my little sister took over, amazingly she seemed to understand exactly what to do even though she is only three, so that shows how easy it is to do. She thought it was hilarious and liked adding lots of people and animals. She thought it was really funny to make the children tall and the adults small. The moving version of her card is at the link below-

happy father’s day, you rock! coded by lottie.

This was definitely a fun way to try coding and I was surprised at how easy it was to do and how much fun it was and I would really like to try this again sometime. These are the still pictures of our cards.

Dear Alien...

Writing just for fun!

Dear Alien,

Let me tell you about planet Earth.

We have plants that need water, soil and light they provide lots of the food that we eat.

We have ponds that have living creatures in them who swim around.

We have a sea that has whales in, it tastes of salt- YUUUUCCCKKK!

We have many creatures who live on the land, many have four legs, like the elephant who stomps around and trumpets loudly. The elephant is my favourite animal.

One of the most amazing creatures of all are the human beings. I am a human. We can think and we can make incredible inventions but we also have wars between ourselves and don't always look after the other creatures like we should. We need to try to protect our planet and everything on it. It's the most amazing place to live!

Come and see us soon and tell us about your planet.

From Luke age 7
